Baby-led Weaning

Kai is 5 months already, so its time to search for Kai's first food.. yay.. so excited..
For u people who barely knew about parenting :), a baby supposed to be exclusively breastfeed for the first 6 months of their life.. and after that, meal time :)
I'm so anxious and excited to search things about meal time.. baby's first food usually comes in puree. But after looking for baby eats puree for the first time, I kinda change my mind :( It looks horrible.. the baby cries and cries for the food that came into their mouth.

So I search for different kind of way to feed a baby. And I found this method, it's called Baby-led Weaning.
This method is sooo easy, and somewhat simpler that making a puree. You only need to put cut fruits in front of the baby, and let the baby took it and eat it by herself. Thats why it called Baby-led Weaning.. let the baby do the weaning.

I know I know, people must be super scared of giving a 6 months baby a real fruit :) so am I.. but I buy the logic for this method.. By doing the eating by herself, it will decrease the tendency of choking.. because she's ready to put the food to her mouth by herself. Not like puree, the baby will tend to choke.. since the baby doesn't know where it's come from..

And don't forget how fun it will be.. super messy food all around the baby chair.. funny expression for trying a new stuff on their mouth.. hihi I really really couldn't wait..
Will be posting on how Kai handle this method soon :) well actually, it's next month :)

Still doesn't buy it? hehe try to read this webs..

Bilingual

I always have trouble with literatures. Both Indonesian and English. Even I stutter when I speak, sometimes. And  I think this is why I wanted my children to be well spoken, in both (or more) languages. And hoping by teaching it in a very early stage will help Kai's ability.
But I guess its not that simple.. seems like I need to be very very consistent.. and follow this OPOL method.
